Pastor Appreciation Day

Pastor Appreciation Day is observed on the second Sunday in October. It is a time to recognize the work of ministers, pastors, and priests in the United States. This national day also falls in National Pastor Appreciation Month, which is observed each October.

Thank You from Barbara Jennings

I am thankful to my church family for all of the help you all have provided since having the procedure on both legs. Despite some struggle, I seem to be on the road to recovery and am finally beginning to heal! The prayers, flowers, visits, cards, and phone calls continue to brighten my day. The wonderful food you all have sent continues to nourish our bodies and allows me to take time to heal. I look forward to seeing you all back at church soon! Love, Barbara Jennings

Please give your budget request to Glenn Harris as soon as you can. A proposed 2020 budget will be presented for approval at the board meeting in October.

Volunteers Needed Saturday, October 19

Wendell Council of Churches is sponsoring a Town-wide food drive to support our community food pantry. Your help is needed to pick up the food bags on Saturday, October 19th that were put out yesterday. This is our opportunity to show our faith and collectively serve our community. Please plan to come out and participate in this worthwhile annual mission of caring and support. This should not take more than 30-45 minutes. Please plan to meet at our church around 9 AM on Saturday, October 19th.

Board Meeting – Wednesday, October 23

Quarterly Board meeting will be Wednesday, October 23rd at 7 PM. Committee Chairs should be prepared to give written reports.

Disciples Women Fundraisers

The Disciples Women’s Fellowship is planning an auction for the end of summer.  We are in need of salable donations and will be collecting those items in the Sunday school room at the end of the hall near the preacher’s study.  Please donate those salable items you no longer need or use. This should be a fun event.

DWF will be selling Rada Cutlery as an ongoing fundraiser. Please see any member of DWF to look at one of the catalogs. These make great gifts and will help the DWF with our projects. Any questions see Ann Harris or Alice Hall.

Is your loved one or close friend on display for all to see? Order a brick in honor of or in memory of a loved one or close friend. View the Memorial Garden Patio for examples. Order forms are in the Fellowship Hall or see any DWF members.

Note Cards for Sale

The DWF has beautiful note cards for sale. Please see the display in the Fellowship Hall.

We lift our voices in music as part of our service, expressing our worship of God. We draw upon our rich heritage of traditional and contemporary music. There is always room for individuals who feel God’s leading to sing in the choir which meets every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary.
