Wednesday Morning Bible Study Resumes September 7

The Wednesday Morning Bible Study will resume on Wednesday morning, September 7th at 10:30 AM.  At that time, you may participate in person in the Fellowship Hall, no Zoom broadcasts.  We will continue studying the book of Exodus. Please share this with those who do not use a computer or who normally use Zoom. Led by Virginia Mora and June Phelps.

Congregational Meeting Sunday, September 25

Our next Congregational Meeting will be after worship on Sunday, September 25. We will begin looking at what we believe Christ has for us to do moving forward. Here is a report from our last meeting when we collected the assets we have as a church and as people. Begin praying now about what the Lord has for you to do.

Homecoming Sunday, October 2

Invite friends and family and bring a covered dish for the fellowship lunch in the Fellowship Hall after Morning Worship. If you would like to place a mum at the altar in memory of or honor of a loved one, please email Glenn Harris or put it in the offering plate and indicate who is to be honored/remembered. All colors are acceptable. Drop off your wrapped mums at church on Saturday or Sunday morning, then pick them up after Homecoming.

Fundraiser Saturday, October 22

A church-wide fundraiser is being planned for Saturday, October 22nd. This fundraiser is intended to help with the financial shortfall we are experiencing. It will be a Fish Fry meal this year– catered by Fitzgerald’s, Saturday, October 22nd, dine in or take out 11 AM – 2 PM and 3 PM – 6 PM. We are asking members to donate bottled water and bags of cookies. Due to increased costs, the dinners will cost $14 – still well worth it. Please sign up to help as we will need all the help we can get. See Gayenell Gull or Glenn Harris to help. More information to follow.

Recycle Reminder

Recently someone put their household trash in the church recycle bin. Please put only recyclables in the recycle container. Please do not put recyclables in with the regular trash. Please Recycle. The list of recyclables is on the wall in the kitchen.

Contribute to Wendell Christian Church

Givelify

Although some of us cannot be physically together during this COVID-19 pandemic, our ministries and church expenses continue and your financial support is greatly needed and appreciated. Click here to make an online contribution, or you can mail your contributions to WCC, PO Box 874, Wendell, NC 27591-0874. To download the Gively smartphone app, click here. Once you have it installed on your phone, put in zip code 27591 for your location and search for Wendell Christian Church.

Martha’s Compassion Box

The CACS Committee sponsors WCC’s Martha’s Compassion Box. This is a “take what you need and leave what you can” compassion box for community residents. The box will house books for both children and adults, toiletries, and nonperishable food items. Individuals are welcome to contribute. Unfortunately, more has been taken lately than has been left. We still have an adequate supply of powdered milk and applesauce but are very low on other items. Please contribute what you can but NO perishables.

Welcome Back, Children!

WCC is welcoming back our children. Each Sunday we will have someone go back with the children after the children’s sermon. They will enjoy a story from their Spark Story Bible that aligns with the morning message. We would love to see your children. We have a sign-up sheet on the sanctuary piano for those willing to spend some time on a Sunday with our children. If you would like to find out more about our fall plans, please contact Summer Smith, Melanie Pepon, or Tammy Fuller.

Children’s Bible Story Videos

The Education Committee will be creating Bible Story videos to share with the community throughout the summer.  We would love to have some guest readers so our children can feel connected to our entire community.  Please contact Tammy Fuller if you would be willing to read a story for our children.  (No worries if you don’t know how to create one, our team will help you with that!) Click here for this week’s story.

Contact An Elder

The Elders are available to the congregation for prayer requests, suggestions, questions or concerns. Click here to send a message to one of our Church Elders.
